5R’s – Incredible to 1R – Awful

The weekend begins with the Moon transiting the sign of the twin, Gemini. Transiting Saturn remains in very close square to transiting Neptune (was exact on Thursday). The Moon moves into family-oriented Cancer late Friday morning. Home and family are the focus then, and our emotions are deepened. The Sun (in adventuresome Sagittarius) conjoins strict hard-working Saturn (also in Sagittarius) late Sunday afternoon. The Sun then squares dreamy Neptune (in Pisces) early Sunday evening. Our dreams and wishes may run headlong into reality, and it could feel a bit like being on the Titanic. Try to go with the flow. The Moon moves into dramatic Leo late Sunday night as well. Our response to the previously mentioned aspects could be dramatic.

Aries –  You may need to make a couple of calls before settling in on Friday. Work from home if you can. As a matter of fact, you may want to stay close to home the entire weekend. Have others over to your place. It’s not usually your MO, but why not have a pleasant laid-back weekend with others. A pleasant time with the possibility of a sexual encounter awaits. Your leadership abilities will be on display nevertheless. Let off some steam on Sunday morning. A behind the scenes matter could be confusing. It will likely be an important development, and might involve foreign matters, legal issues, or long distance travel. Try to keep an open mind. We begin the weekend with the Moon transiting dreamy Pisces. Mercury enters Sagittarius late Friday morning. We communicate in a more adventuresome manner. Venus squares Pluto (in Capricorn) early Friday evening. Control issues permeate partnership matters. The Moon enters Aries early Saturday morning. We become more assertive and willing to take action to get what we want. The Sun enters Sagittarius early Sunday morning. For the next month, we are more generous as well as adventuresome. Many will travel.

Aries – You might want to lay low till Saturday this weekend. On Saturday, you charge on to the scene in true ram style. You know what you want and how to go for it. Nevertheless, an obsession with a partner or perhaps jealousy could throw you off balance. Long buried tensions could surface on Saturday. Careful. Your adventuresome spirit kicks in fully by Sunday. Relationship Analysis: The Luminaries - Jacqueline Bigar

I have a special guest blogger here for everyone today. She is famed astrologer Jacqueline Bigar of Bigar's Stars. Please leave questions in the comments section if you feel comfortable doing so. She is discussing the luminaries in relationship analysis, and I also asked her to let us know any differences in the analysis for gay couples as compared to straight couples. I approach astrology with a Jungian slant.  Jung believed we all have male  and female qualities within. Some of us are more "yin than Yang" or the "animus is stronger than their anima" or vice versa.

With straight people..the Sun represents the male in a woman's life plus her career, In a man's chart, it is him and his career, The moon in a man's chart,is the type of woman he needs on a deep level and in a woman;s chart it is her. 

The aspects between these two luminaries in one's chart determines the relationship history or experience of the individual whose chart we are looking at. In fact, an astrologer does not really need the other party's data to see what is going on in a relationship by looking at the client's chart.

 If one is a gay, certain adjustments need to be made, The relationship experience of an individual still can be seen in an individual's chart through the interacting of the sun and moon, but when comparing a chart, they’re adjustments that need to be made.

Usually who has the more dominant or male chart is obvious but sometimes it isn't. 

My gay cousin pointed out when I posed to him my dilemma:" just ask who is on top and you will find out who or which party the Sun signifies".  He was right. The issue of dominance comes through on many levels in a relationship and not just sexually. This is true of all emotional relationships.  The issues that might manifest sexually will be elsewhere.

Relationships, relationships and relationships are the only words I am hearing from clients. No wonder with the previous Mars/Venus conjunction in earthy Virgo and the Venus retro earlier this year. And, Venus and Mars have now entered partnership-oriented Libra. Thinking about relating is what we are supposed to be doing.

A client asked me today: can one be free and relate?

I am one who loves her freedom more than anything. I thought that was an interesting question. I answered: the possibility lies in meeting someone who has the same juggling of freedom and relating. Why? I asked, with a twinkle in my eye. She gave me her new beau's birth data.

Our relationship capacity and needs are defined by the luminaries, the sun and moon, and in that definition comes the words intimacy, abuse , defensive ,open...and many more..

These traits are so locked in your natal chart that a good astrologer can tell you the nature of the relationship you are in and what the issues are without the other party's chart. When I sometimes do that type of glance in a reading not involving the relationship or without the other party's data , the client asks: if you can do that, why do astrologers use synastry and composites? Great question. I will be dealing with that in a couple of other blog posts.

Compatibility is such an interesting word as its meaning varies from couple to couple, person to person and astrologer to astrologer. No one can define compatibility for anyone unless they understand what the person being read needs, which once more goes back to the Natal Chart, and most importantly the sun and moon.

I often hear that progressions are where it is at. I can promise you one thing, if something is going to happen, it has to be in the Natal chart to become even a possibility.

The one progression I do use with relationships or someone seeking a relationship is the one that determines when and if you are going to meet the love of your life. Sadly, in some charts it never occurs. This has convinced me that anyone fortunate enough to have this progression in their chart needs to be thankful, for that experience.

One client who had this progression happening met the love of her life. She fell madly in love with him and years later the couple still coo like lovebirds..but getting there..ouch.

She and He had many relationship issues preventing intimacy. They were hell on wheels with each other for roughly 8 years. (I know. It was wild reading them during this period) Eventually they decided no longer to break up as they always went back together. Then they started to work through their issues. Now they just accept and love each other to pieces. Acceptance is true love you know, not wanting to change the person but loving them as they are.

So I ask you what would the love of your life look like?

I am sure what you would tell me would be different than what another person might say. Therefore, the importance of sun(man) and moon(woman) in the natal chart.

In how those two planets interact one can read the relationship history, and if you are in a relationship presently. Astrologers can see your intimacy needs through a complete study of the moon and sun and their interaction. The Moon is also Mom and the Sun is also Dad. In the same study, we learn the interactions of the parents, as to how the child now grownup whose chart viewed their relationship.

Yesterday a client told me how very depressed she was. Then her marriage came up where there was heavy abuse, physical and mental. (She is leaving the bond).
She discussed how her therapist asked if she was abused. She said, no never. My Dad and Mom never even spanked me.

She looked at me with a curious expression...like why? I explained to her we model off our parents' relationship. Their interaction is what we come to think of as loving. She got quiet and said. DAD slugged Mom nearly every night, until one day, I was 10. She took a frying pan...

So: her work will be learning that loving which had been the parents’ model was not necessarily really love as many define it or how she "mentally" wanted to picture love. People have a very hard time moving from being attracted to the type who can provide a mimic of the parents' bond. It can happen, and it is hard work.

We begin the weekend with the Moon transiting adventuresome Sagittarius. Transiting Venus (in Libra) sextiles transiting Saturn (in Sagittarius) on Friday morning. We seek stability in our relationships then. Later, transiting Mercury (in Scorpio) sextiles transiting Jupiter (in Virgo). Our words are probing, yet they have a generous quality about them. The Moon moves into ambitious and down to earth Capricorn late Saturday afternoon. We tend to act responsibly and feel grounded. Transiting Mars has moved into Libra now, so we have both relationship planets (Mars and Venus) transiting the sign of partnership – Libra.

Aries – Someone or something foreign or exotic may interest you on Friday, and daydreaming can be fun. Even so, your relationship is stable and pleasant and you’re in an amorous mood. Your skills are needed by late Saturday afternoon as responsibilities fall on you. Don’t let a moment of anger spoil things early in the evening. You prefer serious work and the company of serious people. And, you may want to set some fully formulated goals for the next several years. Capricorn – It’s best to lay low on Friday this weekend. You may need to recharge your batteries anyway. On Saturday evening, however, you show up on the scene all smiles. Physical activity is favored on Sunday. Believe in your good fortune and take action to manifest something that you want. You have some very creative ideas. Pisces – You could be left holding the bag as responsibility lands on you on Friday. You’re a force to be reckoned with. You could be about to experience a peak in professional matters, but you’ll have to work hard for it. Your emotions are powerful on Friday night. Get together with friends for some fun and games on Saturday and Sunday. Someone could unjustifiably challenge you on Saturday morning. Try and maintain your sense of perspective. The Asteroids Of Love (Updated for Asteroid's sign placement on August 6, 2019 @ 6:00 PM PST)

Astrologers look at a number of other cosmic bodies and points in a chart other than planets to do analysis and to make predictions. One must first look at the major planets, and especially the Sun and the Moon in a chart; however, asteroids can add a little more flavor or color to the analysis. And, being the incurable romantic that I am, my favorite asteroids are the ones that symbolize love, romance, passion, and (yes) sex. I’ll list some below with symbolic meanings and interpretations and with, perhaps, some comments.

　

Ceres -- Mother, nurturing, feeding emotional and physical needs. Taking care of each other. This one will always protect you, but too much can be smothering. Ceres is now transiting the sign of Sagittarius.

Juno -- Civil marriage, committed and bonded relationships, legal ties and protection of rights within a relationship. Debbi Kempton-Smith says of this asteroid: “Helpless feelings. You can get away with it, too. If you have it in the third box, the car box, you can bat your lashes at the traffic cop and apologize in a foreign language. He’ll more often than not let you go with a warning.” I would not advise trying that, however. Juno is now transiting the sign of Leo.

Vesta -- Devotion and dedication to beliefs. Tantric sex and passion for ritual. Sex as spiritual transformation. A workaholic and sometimes celibate. Vesta is now transiting the sign of Taurus.

Psyche -- Perseverance of love, connection of a psychic nature, awakening of intuition, soul seeking completion. A soulmate or always looking for a soulmate. Psyche is also associated with unrequited love because she was eventually rejected by Eros. Psyche (#16) is now transiting the sign of Aquarius and is in apparent retrograde.

Sappho -- Sexual attraction, deep appreciation of self and others, poetic, artistic, refined, and cultured. Very passionate. Sappho (#80) is associated with lesbianism. Sappho is now transiting the sign of Leo.

Eros -- Erotic love, sexual or creative revelation that brings two people together to form a lasting transformation. Debbi Kempton-Smith says of this asteroid: “The smitten heart. If her eros is on your whatsis, look out! Troo love funnies time. Bubbles forever.“ Eros is a mini version of Mars. He was also the patron god of homosexuality. Eros (#433) is now transiting the sign of Scorpio.

Cupido -- The look of love, aware of image, being tantalized by the reflection, seeing is exciting and foreboding. Its energy is flirtatious and playful. Natally, the individual can be interested in bringing people together, a matchmaker. Cupido (#763) is an indicator of sexual attraction in synastry. Cupido is now transiting the sign of Libra.

Amor -- Love as felt idealistically, romanticize in pure and unconditional thought, not necessarily sexual. A more mature and romantic love. Amor (#1221) is now transiting the sign of Cancer.

Aphrodite -- Impulsive love and attraction, love inspired by fated events, animosity turning to magnetism, charisma. Aphrodite (#1388) is a mini version of Venus. She was married to Adonis. Aphrodite is now transiting the sign of Taurus.

Anteros -- The brother of Eros, love returned, or love avenged. The answer to love’s longing, a place to finally meet. Anteros (#1943) is now transiting the sign of Libra.

Adonis -- Spellbound love, sexual magnetism, the desire to arouse, please and fulfill the beloved. Potent tie. Adonis (#2101) can signify your ideal man by sign, aspect, and house. He also had homosexual relations and thus can also be an an indicator of male homosexuality. Adonis is now transiting the sign of Libra.

Pan -- Seductive and earthy sensuality, creative, wily, and likely to instill “panic” to produce change or contact. Pan (#4450) is now transiting the sign of Pan.

Lilith -- A darker & more hidden sexuality, a promise of high levels of sexual satisfaction by allowing hidden self/ fantasies to emerge in sexual expression. This one can take you to the best sex you have ever had, yet veering toward the more positive energy of this is advised, so treat each other with respect. Lilith is now transiting the sign of Pisces. We are speaking of dark Moon Lilith here (rather than Asteroid #1181). It's not an Asteroid, but it's significant enough to include.

Casanova -- Casanova represents a promiscuous male, a seducer of many women, a player who shuns commitment. Casanova (#7328) is currently transiting the sign of Virgo.

Bacchus -- Bacchus is associated with wild orgies, groupies, highly sexual and unrestrained sex, group sex, Baccantes, and rock stars, and often indicates sex accompanied by drugs. Bacchus (#2063) is currently transiting the sign of Cancer.

Ganymed -- Ganymed was the lover of Zeus who overtook Hebe's place as cupbearer to the gods. He was placed in the constellation of Aquarius, the water-bearer. So, Ganymed is an indicator of homosexuality. Ganymed (#1036) is currently transiting the sign of Libra.

Lust -- Lust represents lust and sexual motivation, as well as lascivious personality or behavior. It can be an indicator of sexual addiction and/or non-committal sex. Lust (#4386) is currently transiting Scorpio.

Nymphe -- Nymphe can indicate someone who is over sexed. It's more often associated with women who pursue no-strings-attached sex. Nymphe (#875) is now transiting the sign of Scorpio.
