5R’s – Incredible to 1R – Awful

The weekend begins with the Moon transiting the sign of partnership, Libra. Our focus will likely be on others or finding that special someone. Transiting Mercury conjoins transiting Pluto in Capricorn on Friday night. This is the last of the three conjunctions that have occurred over the last few weeks. We continue to probe deeply into an important matter. Transiting Venus (in Capricorn) sextiles transiting Neptune (in Pisces) on Saturday morning. Things of beauty or things that initiate our romantic feelings capture our attention. The Moon moves into seductive Scorpio early on Saturday evening. We’re looking for something intense and/or erotic. And, then transiting Mercury squares transiting Uranus (in Aries) on Sunday evening. News could be a bit startling or shocking. Mercury in direct motion now allows us to straighten out any remaining communications issues or misunderstandings.

Aries – While you normally prefer to take the lead, it might be better to allow someone else to make the first move this weekend. Your popularity increases as a result. You might manifest a wish or dream on Friday. You are concerned about deeper issues in life on Saturday. Nevertheless, you’re thinking is progressive and you have some unique ideas. Others will enjoy your good humor, so don’t hold back. A partnership could deepen after Saturday evening. Try not to say anything too outlandish on Sunday night. Perhaps a surprising gesture before turning in might be okay. Lend a hand to someone less fortunate than yourself. Your concern is appreciated. 5R’s – Incredible to 1R – Awful

The weekend begins with the Moon transiting the sign of emotional Cancer. We focus on how we feel as well as our home and family life. Retrograding Mercury conjoins transiting Pluto (in Capricorn) very early on Friday morning. We revisit an issue that we thought we had resolved but feel a need to probe more deeply. We get one more pass after Mercury turns direct to solve this mystery. The Moon moves into sunny Leo just before noon on Saturday. Our focus turns to our creative endeavors, love, and having fun. Venus enters the sign of practical Capricorn just after noon on Saturday.  We tend to be more realistic and pragmatic with regard to our relationships now and for the next few weeks. The Full Moon in Leo culminates late in the afternoon. We want to shine our inner joyful light on to humanity. Earlier in the week, the Sun moved into the sign of cerebral and friendship-oriented Aquarius. It’s good to be unique and different, and yet we’re interested in group endeavors during the next month.

Aries – Deal with home and family issues this weekend. An older family member most likely needs your attention. Make it your pleasure. You may need to accept the world as it is as opposed to the way you would like it to be on Friday. If you work with your partner, the next month could be lucrative. Drinking Water Disaster In Flint, Michigan

The drinking water disaster taking place in Flint, Michigan that has recently come to light is very troubling. So, I decided to take a look at Flint’s horoscope to see what I could find. What I found was interesting, telling, and a bit eerie.

In Astrology, Saturn’s metal is lead. Therefore, we would expect to see a number of hard transits and aspects involving Saturn in Flint’s natal chart. Yes, locations such as cities, states, and nations have astrological charts/horoscopes. For cities, it is usually (but, not always) the day/time of incorporation. For this analysis, I’ve gotten the Flint, Michigan chart from Carolyn R. Dodson’s book, “”Horoscopes of the US States & Cities.” Flint was first incorporated on February 13, 1855.

When we review the Flint horoscope, we see right away that there are four planets in the first part of Pisces - Mars at 7 degrees, Venus at 9 degrees, Mercury at 11 degrees, and Neptune at 15 degrees. During the period of this drinking water disaster, transiting Saturn has been in Sagittarius and squaring those planets one right after the other. Transiting Neptune has been in early Pisces for three to four years now, and (it seems) the problem was kept hidden from the public for some time and until Saturn began to transit in square aspect to these planets. In addition, Flint’s natal Saturn is posited at 9 degrees Gemini, and forms a t-square with transiting Saturn and the stellium of planets in early Pisces. Neptune rules large bodies of water including rivers (Flint River).

Flint’s natal Moon is in Capricorn, and is being transited by Pluto. The Moon (another watery planet) rules the people of a locale. This disaster is causing a transformation that affects the people of Flint intensely. The corrosive and poisoning effect of the corroding pipes and the lead in the water is a Plutonian effect. This disaster will unfortunately have a very intense and even deadly effect on the population of Flint. Pluto also rules underground events.

It’s not over yet either. Mars hits this area in the Spring of this year, and Saturn also will retrograde back into this area of Sagittarius later in the year. Look for more developments during these periods of time.

This analysis is not meant to be comprehensive and complete. That will probably be done by Mundane Astrologers in the future, but this is a quick look at what is going on in Flint in an Astrological sense using Astrological symbolism.

UPDATE:

Moon Valley Astrologer, Celeste Teal, has sent out a news letter explaining how transiting Jupiter is affecting the Flint water crisis. Transiting Jupiter is in Virgo, the sign of health, and is activating the eclipse point of the September 13, 2015 eclipse. From that news letter:

As laid out in my book, Eclipses, each planet has its own kind of influence when it passes over an eclipse. As a planet of benevolence, Jupiter will often produce some good in order to bring about better balance to a situation that can usually be traced to the sign of the eclipse. Jupiter shines light on the matter. Jupiter often brings forth new information or an acquisition of details that leads to solutions. This is what is happening in Flint. Jupiter helped expose a problem that had been building for some time. In fact, it appears that this situation in Flint was first hinted at in the Aries Lunar Eclipse chart of Oct. 2013, before officials there even decided to change their water supply. It was when the Sun transited that eclipse degree that they did make the switch in April of 2014! So, thank goodness for Jupiter for the kids there.

Now, this benevolence of Jupiter is not the only influence Jupiter has. In studying and researching events when I wrote my book on Eclipses, it was clear that Jupiter can sometimes expand on a bad situation. In other words, things may get worse before they get better. This depends on the other factors present in the original eclipse chart - the alignments of the planets - and it depends on the alignments that transiting Jupiter is involved in when it makes its transit across an eclipse degree.

5R’s – Incredible to 1R – Awful

The weekend begins with the Moon transiting the sign of enthusiastic and aggressive Aries. Look for the unexpected late on Friday night as the Moon conjoins rebellious Uranus. The Moon trines Venus (in Sagittarius) early on Saturday morning. Our emotions and our desires are in balance, and we take action to achieve those desires. The Moon moves into earthy Taurus on Saturday night. We are more grounded then. And, pleasure-seeking Venus is in a square aspect to let it all hang out Jupiter on Sunday evening. It will be difficult to resist indulging in some manner on Sunday. So, someone needs to get the party started.

Aries – YOU are the star of the show for the first half of the weekend as the Moon beams down its lunar rays upon you. What would make you smile? Yes, it’s time to go for it. Your high energy level makes Friday a very good day to go to the gym for an intense workout. And, your imagination is in full bloom on Friday night. Try to understand your unconscious motivations better. Your partner might criticize you on Saturday. Don’t make a big deal out of it. Just review the situation to see if there is some truth to the criticism. By late Friday night, you might want to take a look at your money situation. Gather and pay bills and get your finances in order before the big party begins on Sunday night. Your creativity is in abundance again on Sunday. Let others know what’s on your mind. 5R’s – Incredible to 1R – Awful

The weekend begins with the Moon transiting the sign of adventurous Sagittarius. However, the Moon moves into big business and practical Capricorn very early on Friday morning. We’re trying to get grounded after all the holidays fun. The Sun sextiles transiting Chiron (the wounded healer) very early as well. Astrologer Liz Green makes this comment about this aspect: “The art of living consists of having positive expectations despite negative experiences.” Transiting Mercury has turned retrograde and reenters Capricorn later on Friday morning. Communications issues occurs. Try to be very clear. We have a New Moon in Capricorn late on Saturday afternoon. New beginnings are possible now. And, the Moon enters the forward-thinking and humanitarian sign of Aquarius just after noon on Sunday. We feel more free to show our more eccentric qualities.

Aries –  You are in charge this weekend, and you’ll have your share of responsibilities and then some. On Friday, your emotions are strong, but try not to lose your objectivity in a discussion. On the plus side, a partnership is stable and dependable. There could be some sort of a challenge to the structure of your daily life on Saturday.
