Major Astrological Influences Of 2019

2019 promises to be a very interesting year. There will be more of the unexpected, more lessons to learn, more growth and opportunities, more dreams and ideals, and more transformational experiences. I’ll attempt to explain some of the major astrological influences of the year in the following paragraphs.

There are usually three Mercury retrograde periods every year. In 2019, these Mercury retrograde periods will fall in the water signs (mostly). Mercury actually begins its July retrograde period in the very early part of Leo. These periods are generally marked by miscommunications, misunderstandings, problems with communications equipment, travel delays, and plans that will later need to be revised or completely changed. It’s usually better not to make important decisions or to sign contracts (or anything else) if that is possible during these periods. Complications and problems are too easy to encounter, and often we don’t have all the information that we need. The best thing to do is to continue to collect this information throughout the period. How these periods will affect you personally depends on where it happens in your astrological chart(s).

There will be eclipses in January, July, and December of 2019. They occur in Capricorn, Leo, and Cancer. Interestingly, we will experience a solar eclipse on Christmas Day (later that evening) of this year - 2019. Eclipses are intense and important events that often affect the masses. An eclipse will affect you personally if it hits one of your natal planets or points (within a two degree orb). If you’d like to know if an eclipse will affect you personally, ask me. Most people will experience these eclipses as either a Full Moon or a New Moon.

Saturn will continue its transit through Capricorn. It could influence the large multi-national corporations, the leather and hide industries, and the iron and steel industries. This transit will affect you personally depending on where Saturn is transiting in your astrological chart(s) (its house placement and if it aspects any of your natal planets or points). Transiting Saturn will sextile transiting Neptune (in Pisces) during much of this year, but especially in January, June, and November. Those periods will most likely be beneficial. Perhaps, we can make some of our fondest dreams a reality, but we’ll have to work hard for it.

Uranus, the planet of change and the unexpected, will continue to transit the later part of Aries in 2019. Transiting Uranus will enter Taurus in March and remain there till July of 2025. Transiting Uranus could affect the high technology industry, astrology/astrologers, civil rights issues, and other humanitarian interests. Transiting Taurus, it could affect the banking industry, investments, and finances. It is likely to affect the stock market as well. We might come up with new ways to make money and/or we may change the way we think about money and other possessions. Some astrologers have indicated that this transit could cause more earthquakes to occur. My own view is that this transit alone will not be the cause of more earthquakes (should we actually experience more).

In 2018 we had a Mars retrograde period and a Venus retrograde period. In 2019, we are free of these retrograde periods for these two planets.

Jupiter will be transiting the sign of Sagittarius for much of 2019. We should experience opportunities with regard to foreign travel and learning about foreign cultures, the law, and higher education. Jupiter is at home in Sagittarius, and we should experiences opportunities for expansion, growth, and good fortune in whatever house Jupiter is transiting in our own charts. Just a little bit of caution is advised, however. Jupiter will be in a square aspect to transiting Neptune (in Pisces) at various time during the year. At such time, we might be tempted to take unnecessary and ill advised risks. If something sounds too good to be true during these periods of time, it probably is (too good to be true).

Neptune will continue its transit through its home sign of Pisces in 2019. The oil and gas industries will be impacted by this transit. Neptune also rules the motion picture industry and the shipping industry. This transit might help us out with some of the heavier Capricorn transits (Saturn and Pluto) during the year.

Pluto will continue to transit the sign of Capricorn in 2019. The areas related to Capricorn (see above for Saturn) are due for transformation. Pluto’s effects are subtle sometimes, tend to happen over a lengthy period of time, and are very powerful.

The Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting And The Eclipses

Eleven people were killed on October 27, 2018 at Tree Of Life Congregation Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a gunman stormed in on the congregation and began shooting. Six other people were seriously wounded. The police were notified at 9:54 AM local time. The event chart is below the written article.

At the time of the shooting, the Sun was stimulating the July 27, 2018 total lunar eclipse in Aquarius (at about 5 degrees). In that eclipse chart (over Washington DC), the cusp of the ninth house or organized religion is on Leo. And, the ruler of the ninth house (the Sun) is located in the eighth house of death and opposed to the Moon and Mars. Uranus squares both from Taurus. In the event chart for the formation of the city of Pittsburgh, we see Neptune and Mars in the early degrees of Scorpio and in opposition to the Sun in Taurus. Those planets square the eclipse point discussed in this paragraph. Chiron (in the Pittsburgh Chart) is at 7 Leo (which completes the grand cross in fixed signs).

In addition to the July 27, 2018 eclipse, transiting Mars was also stimulating the August 11, 2018 solar eclipse in Leo (at about 18 degrees). In Pittsburgh’s chart, we find Saturn at about 17 Taurus. Among those killed were a number of distinguished elders of the congregation.

Transiting Jupiter (and Mercury) were/are stimulating the Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 (at 28 Leo). The gunman’s birthday is September 4, 1972 (time and place unknown). His Mercury is at about 28 Leo and is squared by his natal Neptune (in early Sagittarius). His natal Jupiter (in late Sagittarius) is squared by his natal Pluto. Transiting Chiron squares his natal Jupiter and opposes his natal Pluto. There was a total solar eclipse at 29 Pisces on March 20, 2015. Asteroids Pittsburghia, Roberta, and Bower are conjunct in the ninth house or organized religion in the event chart.

The gunman’s natal Sun and Mars are conjunct the MC in the event chart. And, those planets are in a square aspect to his natal Saturn in Gemini.

The Loma Prieta Earthquake And The Eclipses

We just had the 29th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake in the San Francisco Bay Area., so I thought I’d do a little astrological analysis of the earthquake. The earthquake occurred at 5:04 PM (local time) on October 17, 1989. The epicenter of the quake was quite close to the small town of Watsonville - south of San Francisco. Most folks who were here and experienced the earthquake remember where they were and what they were doing. I was sitting on my sofa and talking on the telephone to an employment consultant. When the quake began, she yelled, “OMG, it’s an earthquake!” I had just moved to San Francisco a couple of weeks prior to the event, so the rocking and rolling was something quite new to me. Unfortunately, sixty-three people died from incidents occurring as a result of the earthquake.

Anyway, a few eclipses were being stimulated at that time. Probably the most important one was the total solar eclipse of March 29, 1987 at 8 Aries. In the event chart for the earthquake, we find Saturn at 8 Capricorn (and, in square aspect to the eclipse point) along with Neptune at 9 Capricorn and Uranus at 1 Capricorn. Those planets are squaring Mercury at 9 Libra and opposing Jupiter at 10 Cancer and Chiron at 16 Cancer. In Watsonville’s chart, we see the Sun at 10 Aries giving us a fairly tight grand cross in cardinal signs. Most of the folks who were killed were on the bottom level of the Nimitz Freeway when it collapsed. Gemini is on the third house and Mercury is a part of the grand cross. The Moon was in Gemini and the third house.

The September 22, 1987 annular solar eclipse at 0 Libra had also been activated by Uranus at 1 Capricorn. And, Uranus is conjunct the MC in the event chart. Interestingly, the asteroid Pholus is conjunct the IC at 29 Gemini. We very often have a malefic outer planet (one or more) conjunct one of the angles (or more) in the charts of these events.

In addition, the Sun was stimulating the lunar eclipse of April 13, 1987 by conjunction. And, Mars was stimulating the April 8, 1986 solar eclipse in Aries by opposition. That’s quite a bit of activity related to eclipses.

One of the interesting aspects about the timing of this earthquake is that it occurred almost 84 years after the 1906 earthquake (which leveled the entire city). At the time of that earthquake, Uranus was at 8 Capricorn and conjunct the MC of that event chart. And, Neptune was at 7 Cancer and conjunct the IC in that event chart. The epicenter of that earthquake was actually located in the Pacific Ocean just west of San Francisco.

Hurricane Michael And The Eclipses

Hurricane Michael is bearing down on the panhandle of the state of Florida now - October 10 (mid morning). It is the strongest storm to hit the Florida panhandle ever. It has developed rapidly into a strong category 4 hurricane.

As is very often the case, when we have an extreme weather event that can affect large numbers of people over a large area, one or more eclipses is being stimulated by one or more planets. In the case of Hurricane Michael, transiting Mars is stimulating the January 31, 2018 lunar eclipse by opposition. This eclipse chart shows Neptune on the Ascendant. Transiting Venus is also activating this eclipse by square aspect, but clearly Mars is the more dangerous transit here. And, as the Moon moves toward a conjunction to Venus (in apparent retrograde) and a square to this eclipse point, the hurricane will move onshore. After it moves onshore, it will head toward Tallahassee - the largest and most populous city that the hurricane will hit in Florida. This makes the state chart and the city of Tallahassee chart important. Some of the things that I’ve been hearing about this storm is that it formed very quickly and that it’s moving very quickly. It also strengthened quite quickly. That is all consistent with the Mars archetype.

In the chart for the state of Florida, we find Saturn at 13 Aquarius. So, this event will affect commerce and business in the state significantly. As a strong category four hurricane, it could destroy numerous structures. That even includes some of those inland buildings in Tallahassee. Also, in Florida’s progressed chart, the IC (bottom of the chart) falls on 11 Aquarius.

In the state of Florida’s event chart, we find Neptune at 24 Aquarius. Transiting Jupiter is squaring the state’s Neptune (and Venus) right now. And, Jupiter is stimulating the February 10, 2017 lunar eclipse by square aspect. It is also squaring the February 15, 2018 solar eclipse in Aquarius. This would indicate the large storm surge that is expected as well as the flooding that occurs with these large storms. And, in Florida’s progressed chart, Mars joins Neptune at 24 Aquarius.

I don’t usually say too much about solar arc charts in these posts. But, in Florida’s solar arc chart, there is something quite interesting. In that chart we find Neptune at 12 Aquarius.

Transiting Mercury is now at 1 Scorpio, but it’s moving quite rapidly. It will soon stimulate the July 27, 2018 total lunar eclipse in Aquarius. With the high winds of the hurricane and the tornadoes that these systems often spawn, I would expect quite a bit of wind damage with this one.

The Sun is also stimulating the July 12, 2019 solar eclipse in Cancer by square aspect (in a few hours). This will affect Tallahassee since the city’s Uranus is at 19 Capricorn. In the Tallahassee chart, Mars squares this point and Tallahassee’s Uranus. The storm event could be experienced as somewhat violent. In the city’s chart, Mercury is at about 14 Capricorn. The solar eclipse of January 5, 2019 will hit this point. In the city’s progressed chart, Mercury is at 4 Leo. That point was eclipsed by the July 27, 2018 lunar eclipse (by opposition). In Tallahassee’s solar arc chart, Neptune is at 21 Cancer - very close to the point of the July 12, 2018 solar eclipse in Cancer.

This will be a major weather event. So, I hope folks have either evacuated or are safely hunkered down.

September 18, 2018 Daily Horoscope For Libra

5R’s – Incredible to 1R – Awful

Libra -  You probably had a great time over the weekend hanging out with friends and neighbors, and you probably got a number of important errands run as well. However, the astrological atmosphere is different now. You’ll likely want to spend your time at or close to home today. It’s just that you’re more comfortable in familiar surroundings and with close family and friends. If you’re scheduled to work, perhaps you can arrange to work from home. You might have domestic and/or family/home issues to deal with. The unexpected happens later in the day, and it might affect joint finances, loans, credit, and/or insurance. The issue might also be of a sexual nature. Maintain your equilibrium. Tonight: Your home is your castle.  RRRR

Astrology And Politics - Brett Kavanaugh

The above photo is from Zimbio

Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh to be the next Supreme Court of the United States justice a couple of months ago - following the resignation of Justice Kennedy. Since that time, a woman (Christine Blasey Ford) has come forward accusing Judge Kavanaugh of attempted rape (from back in 1982). The two were in high school at the time.

Judge Kavanaugh was born on February 12, 1965 in Washington DC. I do not have the exact time of birth, so it is impossible to make a precise prediction of the accuracy of the claims against him. But, we can make a few astrological observations. I’ve drawn his natal chart up for a birth time of Noon that day.

I would suspect hard aspect between Venus and Mars and/or the Moon and Mars in the chart of a potential rapist, and I would also expect some malefic outer planetary influence as well. Judge Kavanaugh has natal Venus in a sesquiquadrate aspect to natal Mars. This is a hard aspect, but it’s a minor one. He also has natal Pluto/Uranus inconjunct natal Venus. That is also a hard aspect, but it is also a minor aspect. The Moon and Mars do not make any aspects in this chart. However, had he been born earlier in the day, we would have seen a square aspect from the Moon and Mars. So, it’s possible that he has natal Moon squaring natal Mars.

So, based on this astrological analysis, I would say that the allegations are possibly true, but we would need further information to be very confident of such a prediction.

Judge Kavanaugh’s natal Mercury is squaring his natal Neptune. This does not necessarily mean that he is lying or that he often lies, but it does mean that it’s possible (and, more possible with this aspect). Some folks manifest this aspect as being very imaginative and creative. It’s helpful in that way, but it could also be an indication of an individual who plays fast and loose with the truth (like Trump seems to be). I don’t really know enough about Judge Kavanaugh to know how it manifests in his chart. But, hopefully we will get to the truth.

Mrs. Ford has taken and passed a polygraph test which adds a great deal to her credibility. It is unclear at this time as to whether or not the Republicans in the Senate will allow the Kavanaugh nomination to be delayed or not. We’ll see.

UPDATE 1:

There will be a hearing on Monday with both Kavanaugh and Ford before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Developments came is quite quickly today. The Sun is stimulating the September 16, 2016 lunar eclipse in Pisces. Kavanaugh's natal Mars is at 26 Virgo. In addition, transiting Mars is squaring transiting Uranus tomorrow.

UPDATE 2:

I decided to check out some asteroids (in Kavanaugh's chart). His natal Bacchus is at 2 Capricorn, which puts it in square aspect to Kavanaugh's natal Mars and (perhaps) in opposition to his natal Moon. Asteroid Bacchus has to do with group sex and orgies along with the use of drugs. And, that certainly sounds like what happened.

Hurricane Florence And The Eclipses

At this time (9/11/18 @ 10 PM PDT), Hurricane Florence is barreling toward the Carolina’s coast. It is a huge hurricane and very dangerous. Hopefully, folks have listened to the warnings and vacated the coastal areas. In this case, some of the inland areas are also in danger because of flooding.

There are a couple of interesting and relevant astrological events going on now. The Sun is stimulating the September 12, 2015 solar eclipse at 20 Virgo and also the March 8, 2016 total solar eclipse at 19 Pisces. In addition, transiting Mercury (in Virgo) is about to oppose transiting Neptune (in Pisces).

One of the cities that is in grave danger from this huge storm is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. That city was incorporated on March 12, 1938. That places it’s Sun at 21 Pisces. Neptune in this chart is at 19 Virgo. So, I would say that this huge storm is going to affect this city in a big way. And, another city that may be greatly affected by this hurricane is Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston was first incorporated on August 13, 1783. In that event chart, the lunar node is at about 19 Pisces. This storm is huge, and a number of cities and towns will be affected. These are just two of them that I thought I would look up.
