Miscellaneous Astrological Musings - July 3, 2020

The Coronavirus Pandemic And Mercury Retrograde

At the beginning of June a number of states began to open up after having closed things down because of the coronavirus. By about mid June the coronavirus numbers began to spike in a number of those same states and Mercury turned apparent retrograde. And, some of those states have begun to close back down (at least to some extent) and some others have decided to delay certain phases of their planned openings. Interestingly, Mercury stationed retrograde very close to opposite the July 5, 2020 lunar eclipse point.

The Coronavirus Pandemic - Florida

Florida is one of the states that is recording record numbers of new coronavirus cases - over 10K on July 2. The state of Florida chart shows the Moon (the people) at 12 Capricorn - about a degree from the July 5, 2020 lunar eclipse. Mercury rules Florida’s chart.

The Coronavirus Pandemic - Houston

Houston is one of the cities having a rough time of it lately. The city’s hospitals have come very close to running out of space/beds for serious COVID-19 cases. Houston’s Sun (leaders) is at 14 Gemini and conjunct Chiron. The solar eclipse of June 5, 2020 fell very close to Houston’s Sun/Chiron. Interestingly, transiting Jupiter and Pluto have been in opposition to Asteroid Koronis in Houston's chart.

The Coronavirus Pandemic - Phoenix

Phoenix is also one the hardest hit cities recently with regard to the coronavirus. The astrological chart for Phoenix shows three important planets in the latter part of Aries - Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn - which is the general location of where the Asteroid Koronis is transiting. In addition, Koronis is located at 25 Cancer in the chart for Phoenix. Jupiter and Pluto have been transiting in opposition.
